Shopping Update

It’s the Holiday Shopping season again. So, I thought that you all might enjoy some of the highlights of what’s out there. (Oh, and I apologize for posting this so late. I think that the stairs in my apartment have it in for me. Yes. I fell on the stairs again. Good thing I turn out to be pretty durable. Nothing is broken, but wow the pain. It’s slowed me down a bit.) Anyway, I’ll start with the Weeping Angel Action Figure. Own your own quantum-locked Assassin! (Item pictured above. Don’t blink.) The item is five inches tall and poseable. Why not buy four and set them up around your TARDIS?

In other Action Figure news, Sarah Jane has an action figure!

Like your presents a bit more interactive? Why not try The Master’s Laser Screwdriver or The Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver? Just be sure that you give the right screwdriver to the correct person. You wouldn’t want to get those mixed up. You wouldn’t want the Judoon to get involved, would you?

There are all sorts of books available right now, and most of them are on my Christmas list. The Doctor Who Encyclopedia by Gary Russell is the one I’m most interested in. It contains more of those “never before seen” pictures, and I’m curious to see what sorts of previously unknown information it features. I’m also keen to get a hold of the 2008 Doctor Who Annual, but that’s mostly because I like annuals. Fans of the Sarah Jane Adventures can find several Audiobooks over on Amazon.co.uk. In calendar land, you can fill up your walls with the Doctor Who Calendar and the Torchwood Calendar.

And now, some of the more…unusual items out there:

What would breakfast be without the Doctor Who egg cup?

Why not go as a Dalek to your next fancy dress party?

How about a Wibbly-Wobbly Timey Wimey Wall Clock?

Or, just spend all of your money on t-shirts.

Argh! I can’t decide. I want it all.

I need a Dr Who present for each of the 8 days of Chanukah, don’t I? Not the angels though - as my mother once said about daleks “They’re not domesticated.” (my dream Dr Who gift is still radio controlled daleks - I’m obviously old fashioned)

  2. Elisa Says:

Well, over the course of 8 days, you could come up with quite the playset. A couple of radio-controlled daleks, a TARDIS, ….

  3. Gillian Says:

Only if someone gives tehm to me. I already bought my presents for myself. Lots of yummy coffee, and some sticky notes that say “From the warped brain of Gillian Polack.” (OK, so I needed them both - that doesn’t make them less fun or less of a gift.)

  4. The Dude Says:

I love the new Doctor Who toys and I can’t recommend the flight control Tardis enough: it rocks.

Going to the Gallifrey One’s convention in here in LA just for the dealers’ room and plan on dropping a lot on toys (the folks that go to those conventions scare me to much to hang out at one, I just want the goodies).

Was really waiting for the Sarah Jane figure as well…

  5. Elisa Says:

Gillian, I like your taste in gifts.

*promises not to freak out The Dude when she is at Gallifrey One next year.*
