Question:Favorite Doctor Quote From Series Two?

Okay, I wasn’t going to do this for a few weeks, but there seemed such interest that I am giving in. This week’s question is: What is your favorite 10th Doctor quote from Series 2? As before, we are sticking with just quotes from The Doctor himself. I will address other characters in future questions. As usual, I offer you a list of quotes to get you started. Feel free to go beyond this list. (For further help, why not check out these Transcripts?)

  • “Allons-y!” - Army of Ghosts
  • “If they get back in touch… if you talk to Rose. Just tell her… Tell her I…Oh, she knows.” - The Satan Pit
  • “How many prisms has it got? Way too many. The magnification’s gone right over the top, that’s stupid kind of a…am I being rude again?” - Tooth and Claw
  • “I’m so old, now. I used to have so much mercy. You get one warning. That was it.” - School Reunion
  • “Except that implies, in this big grand scheme of Gods and Devils, that she’s just a victim. But I’ve seen a lot of this universe. I’ve seen fake gods and bad gods and demi gods and would-be gods. Out of all that. Out of that whole pantheon. If I believe in one thing… just one thing… I believe in her!” - The Satan Pit
  • “I thought there’d be happy-slapping hoodies. Happy-slapping hoodies with ASBOs. Happy-slapping hoodies with ASBOs and ringtones.” - School Reunion
  • “Nobody else in this entire galaxy’s ever even bothered to make edible ball bearings. Genius.” - Fear Her
  • “Well… for starters… I know you can’t wrap your hand around your elbow and make your fingers meet.” - Idiot’s Lantern
  • “You’ve been looking… you like it. ” - New Earth
  • “Ah, I wanted to be ginger. I’ve never been ginger. And you, Rose Tyler, fat lot of good you were - you gave up on me– oh, that’s rude. That’s the sort of man I am now, am I? Rude. Rude and not ginger.” - Christmas Invasion

Well, I’ve thought about this, and it was a really difficult choice. In the end, though, I’m going with The Doctor’s “I believe in her” speech from The Satan Pit. It is the closest he ever comes to explaining how he feels about Rose. I think that my runner-up would be “I’m so old now…” from School Reunion. Really, I could choose quotes for days. Which one did you choose?

  1. Debbie Says:

My favorite is the entire Who Am I speech that happens before, during, and after the fight at the end of the Christmas Invasion, with the best line of all being: “No second chances. I’m that sort of a man.”

  2. Emma Says:

I am still waiting to see Season Two! I was watching it on a disc from Netflix when the Texas Chainsaw Massacre thing happened (I’m sure you heard about that) and we are STILL waiting for rental discs to be released! I hope they come out soon. :)

  3. lisa-marie Says:

“I’m so old now …” is a good one, but I think my fave would be “Rude and not ginger”.

  4. The Vig Says:

I love the whole post regeneration who am I speech, but I think the “I’m so old, now …” is my favorite.

  5. Elisa Says:

Debbie & lisa-marie, That *was* a fabulous speech. He’s so Rude and not Ginger.

Emma, Oh No! That must have been quite shocking. I hope that you get to see it soon.

The Vig, that speech gave me a shiver. The Doctor travels about the Universe enforcing his standards these days, doesn’t he?

  6. drow Says:

“so old, now” from school reunion. gawds, anthony stewart head was so good in that, and so perfect opposite tennant in that scene. even mickey, and his tin dog epiphany.
