Question: Which Classic Baddie Should Return in Series 4?

Hello all. Things are a bit sketchy for me today, as my hard drive up and died last night. (*sob* I need a sonic screwdriver, darn it!) I’m posting from one of the servers today. This doesn’t stop me from asking my question of the week, though. This week I am wondering: Which baddie from the Classic Series of Doctor Who do you think should return in series 4? I’m looking for the ones that have yet to reappear this time around. We’ve already seen The Autons, The Daleks, The Cybermen, and a few more that I’m not going to mention here as series three hasn’t started yet in several areas. (Those of you attempting to avoid spoilers should probably not read the comments for this one, though. That’s the land where spoilers roam freely.) So, what’s it to be? Do you fear the Haemovores? Are you mad about Morbius? Do you Miss Magnus Greel? As usual, I offer you a nice selection of baddies to choose from, but feel free to wander off on your own. That’s what most companions do.

A few classic Baddies:

  • The Silurians
  • The Sea Devils
  • The Black Guardian
  • The Yeti
  • The Sontarans
  • Ice Warriors
  • The Axons
  • The Rani (please, no)
  • Sutekh
  • The Zygons

Well…upon serious reflection, I think that I would like to see an updated version of the Yeti. The TARDIS crew could go someplace icy, and suddenly…Yeti! And The Doctor could wish that he had U.N.I.T. to help him out. (Yes, I miss U.N.I.T. too.) I’d also quite keen to see the Sea Devils again. So, they’d be my second choice. What do you think? Do you agree with me?

Ooohhhh, the Yeti would be cool! I’m thinking some updated Silurians and Sontarans could be fun, too!

  2. MKEJenkins Says:

What about a battle between The Black Guardian and Captain Jack? They are both Eternals now… Wouldn’t that be interesting?

  3. Michael Says:

    If you’re a conspiracy theorist…

Sea Devil is being prepped for DVD release.

Each year, the DVD release of certain classic stories ties into the villain or recurring threat of the season.

By that logic, the Sea Devils might return.

I, for one, would love to see the Zygons back.

  4. Gillian Says:

What I really want to see is UNIT in Torchwood. Think of the conflict, and think of what UNIT knows…

  5. Eric J Says:

I just re-watched The Five Doctors last night, so my first thought was The Yeti as well.

But I think Season 4 should be when RTD makes his play to create the Next Classic Enemy. Something that future producers will want to bring back.

  6. Elisa Says:

Wow! You lot have a bunch of great suggestions there.

lisa-marie, can you imagine what the new sontatans would look like?

MKE, I think that they would have to show that one on Torchwood. Also, how did you know that I almost mentioned the eternals in my post?

I’m liking your conspiracy theory there Michael. Hmmmm…

Well, Gillian, UNIT is at least mentioned in Torchwood. Who knows what series two might bring?

Hey, Eric J. Why not both? I agree, by the way, it’s time for the new iconic baddie.

I hope to have my computer back soon…
