Question: What Is Your Favorite Track On The Doctor Who Soundtrack?

by Elisa

I have been listening to the Doctor Who Soundtrack for months now. Sometimes, I just leave it on continuously in the background when I’m working. (Yes, I know, I’m obsessive.) Strangely, I haven’t yet asked you about that CD. Shocking! So, this week I fell compelled to inquire: What Is Your Favorite Track On The Doctor Who Soundtrack? (If you need a bit of a reminder go here to listen to a sample of each piece of music.) If you feel the need, go ahead and listen to the whole thing first. I have posted the track listings for you below.

31. Doctor Who Theme - Album Version

What is my favorite track on the album? Without a doubt, I have to choose #27: Doomsday. When that music played over the scenes at the end of the episode…well, I needed a bunch of tissues. It was like Murray Gold took The Doctor’s Theme, the spirit of Rose’s Theme, added a heartbeat, and a little something magical to create something new and heartbreaking. My second choices would be a tie between #19: Madame de Pompadour and #21: The Lone Dalek. Number 19 still makes me sniffle every time, and the Lone Dalek theme has been used, at least in part, in The Impossible Planet. I always stop whatever I’m doing to listen to both.

Okay, then. Enough about me. Which track do you adore the most?

  1. The Vig Says:

Okay, I can not narrow it down, the top picks would be:

    The Doctor Who Theme
    The Doctor’s Theme
    Harriet Jones, Prime Minister
    Madame de Pompadour
    The Impossible Planet

Harriet’s theme is great, because I can hear her plea “Has anyone seen The Doctor …”

The whole soundtrack is, if you will forgive me, Gold.

  2. lisa-marie Says:

My fave song is “Love Don’t Roam”. It makes me happy for some reason, and is a pretty good treadmill song, too!

Isn’t it great how this soundtrack has something that appeals to each of us?
