Question: Favorite Series Two Quote?

Well, here is the other one you have been waiting for: What is your favorite Doctor Who series two quote? There are a lot of fabulous one to choose from in this series. From “New, New Doctor” to “Who you gonna call?” it’s open season on any quote from anyone in series two. And yes, that includes The Doctor and Rose. Feeling a bit forgetful? Why not consult some transcripts? As usual, I offer a few suggestions below, but feel free to wander off as you like. The Companions always do anyway.
Here are a few suggestions:
- “For how should Man die better than facing fearful odds? For the ashes of his father… and the temples of his Gods.” (Jefferson) - The Impossible Planet
- “Oh, sweet Lord. I’m a walking doodle.” (Cassandra/Chip) - New Earth
- “I’m so old, now. I used to have so much mercy. You get one warning. That was it. (The Doctor) - School Reunion
- “We would destroy the Cybermen with one Dalek.” (Dalek Sec) - Doomsday
- “Trust me on this.” (Pete Tyler) - Rise of the Cybermen
- “Except that implies, in this big grand scheme of Gods and Devils, that she’s just a victim. But I’ve seen a lot of this universe. I’ve seen fake gods and bad gods and demi gods and would-be gods. Out of all that. Out of that whole pantheon. If I believe in one thing… just one thing… I believe in her! (The Doctor) - The Satan Pit
- “That’s the Union Flag. It’s the Union Jack only when it’s flown at sea. (Rose) - Idiot’s Lantern
- ” It is customary, I think, to have an imaginary friend only during one’s childhood. You are to be congratulated on your persistence.” (Reinette) - The Girl in the Fireplace
- “You want weapons? We’re in a library. Books! Best weapons in the world.” (The Doctor) - Tooth and Claw
- “Til he met me… ‘cos if these are gonna be my last words, then you’re gonna listen; I met the Emperor. And I took the Time Vortex and I pulled it into his head and turned him into dust. Do you get that? The God of all Daleks… and I destroyed him. (Rose) - Doomsday
This series is very difficult to choose a favorite quote from. I sat and I argued with myself about this one for a while. Finally, I was forced to conclude that Jefferson’s recited poem from The Impossible Planet just barely edged out The Doctor’s “I believe in her” speech from The Satan Pit. I suppose that I’m just a sucker for poetry. Either way you look at it, my favorite quotes come from that two-parter. So, what do you think? What is your favorite series two quote?

From the Satan Pit
“No, that’s not it… that’s too kind. It’s not the urge to jump, it’s deeper than that. It’s the urge to fall!”
