Question: Choose Two Doctors…

So, this week i would like to know: If you could have a two Doctor story, involving any two Doctors (we’re pretending that everyone is either still alive or that the BBC has serious technical wizardry for this scenario) which Doctors would you choose? We’ve had an episode with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Doctors, one with the first 5 Doctors (with a stand-in playing the first Doctor), and and episode featuring the 2nd and 6th Doctors so far. So, who would you choose?
As usual, here is the list, but you may also choose Peter Cushing, or anyone that I may be leaving out…
- The First Doctor: William Hartnell.
- The Second Doctor: Patrick Troughton.
- The Third Doctor: John Pertwee.
- The Fourth Doctor: Tom Baker.
- The Fifth Doctor: Peter Davison.
- The Sixth Doctor: Colin Baker.
- The Seventh Doctor: Sylvester McCoy.
- The Eighth Doctor: Paul McGann.
- The Ninth Doctor: Christopher Eccleston.
- The Tenth Doctor: David Tennant.
As for me, I would really like to see the 8th Doctor actually appear in the series. So, an episode featuring 8 and 10 would be really fun. Putting Doctors 7 and 9 together would probably end up as some sort of very dark episode, or…they might cause some sort of rift in time and space. Having 1 and 9 together would be really interesting. They are a lot more similar than you’d think. This is a very difficult choice to make. Hmmmm… I think that I would most like to see a 3 doctor episode featuring 4, 8, and 10. I’m breaking my own rules already. Sigh. Alright, I am interested in seeing how 4 and 10 interact, so I’ll choose them. And Romana 2. Just because. What about you?
William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, John Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant

7th and 10th would be my top pick, but your 4th, 8th, 10th idea would be very cool.
Does anyone know RTD’s feelings on multi Doctor stories?

I think I’d like to see 3 and 9, just for the contrast of styles.

The Vig, I wish I knew RTD’s opinion on multi-doctor stories. I’d bet that he’s say something like: “*mumblemumble* Time War *mumblemumble*” You know…the 7th and 10th would be very interesting. The combination could be quite dark, but not *too* dark. The episode should feature Ace, and be about something a bit silly to balance it out. What do you think?

Eric J, do you think that 9 could stand to be around 3? Mind you, it would be amusing to see how thay clashed trying to solve a problem. Throw in Sarah Jane and I think you have a winner. Action episode, do you think?

I think I’d like to see 3 & 4 in an adventure together, as they are so different in tempermant. Especially if Sarah Jane is around and seeing her conflict of who to listen/be with.

Erik, this makes me think that what I really want to see is a 9th and 10th Doctor story. I get the feeling that 9 might smack 10 around a little. (You let Rose almost fall into the void? *smack*) You are right. 3 & 4 would be all kinds of fun.

Elisa, none of them can stand to be around any of the others - that’s kind of the point. And the hyper-confident, action oriented, not-afraid-of-a-little-violence Third Doctor could have been just the tonic battle-scared and traumatized Ninth Doctor needed.

True, Eric J, very true. Maybe 3 would make 9 feel a bit younger? (I wonder if other time lords could stand their previous selves…)

Well you already know how much I love the 9th doctor so I would have to add the 10 in to the mist. That way I get intense and broody with sarcastic and cute, a girl could have a lot of fun with that. So true Elisa 9 would so kick 10’s butt!

Pertwee’s doctor was always the most confrontational, in-your-face doctor - it would be interesting to watch him interact with Tennant. Add Tegen to the mix to increase the volatility.
But then, they’re all the same person and who among us wouldn’t create a few sparks if we had to try and get along with ourselves?

Good point steve. I wouldn’t get along with myself, and I would still look basically the same. 3rd and 10 (sounds like something from football there…) would make an interesting mix. Just think of all of the running that would occur.

I’m glad to see that you agree with me Dorothy.
