Notes and News in the Whoniverse

Hello again. I hope that the New Year is treating you well. Just a note before I begin this round up. Akismet is eating most (if not all) of my comments right now for some reason. I’m not alone in this. It seems to be a network-wide problem. Please bear with me. I’m checking the spam folder a couple of times a day at this point. Your comments will be found and liberated, never fear.
Kylie Minogue, who played Astrid Peth in The Voyage of the Damned, has been honored by the Queen with an OBE for her services to music. Congratulations Kylie!
According to Pocket Gamer, a Top Trumps Doctor Who video game is in the works for the Nintendo DS, Playstation 2, and PC. It should arrive in the Spring. Hm…. I wonder if it will be available outside of the UK. I like The Doctor’s special move. Apparently he’ll be able to mess with time so that he can get a peek at his opponent’s cards.
Kai Owen, otherwise known as Gwen’s boyfriend Rhys on Torchwood, has been quoted by The Sun as saying that in series two of Torchwood they have “cut down on the swearing and the sex but it’s still adult, still violent, and the scripts are better, too.” Less sex, eh? Well, that shouldn’t be too difficult. There was a whole bunch of that in series one. I wonder how much “less” they have this time around. I’m all for the better scripts, though. Last series was a bit uneven as far as script quality goes.
Also, over on ICWales is the interview that the above quote came from. It seems that Rhys has a larger role in the next series than before. There are also some specifics about things that will occur during the next series if you are interested. Kai Owen is currently playing Prince Charming in a panto of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Yet more panto that I am missing. Sigh.
Speaking of Torchwood series two, I’ve run across another trailer. It has some new footage that you may enjoy. Mind you, it is full of spoilers by its very nature, so avoid if you are allergic to knowing what is coming soon. (January 16 in the UK, and January 26 in the USA.) Here you go!

The worst was the Yanto heavy episode with the cyberwoman.
Whoever dreamt that up must have been at the tail end of a bender, or some bizarre sleep deprivation experiment.

Debbie, I fixed it…but I can’t guarantee it’ll stay that way.
Ben, I disagree. I’m torn between the Fairies ep and Countrycide.
