News and Notes of the Whoniverse

Torchwood Starts Thursday! (In the United Kingdom, anyway. The United States has to wait until the 26th.) So, this information roundup will largely be Torchwood-centric. Let’s get on with it.
John Barrowman’s memoir Anything Goes: The Autobiography is due out on 24 January in the UK, and 28 April in the US. It was ghostwritten by his big sister Carole, who spent three months following John around everywhere while gathering material. Yes, everywhere. Well, except the bathroom and the bedroom. She interviewed his friends and co-workers, and John says that the end result sounds very like the way he talks. For a further interview with John on his life and his upcoming book, try this article from Scotland on Sunday.
Ianto Jones has been granted Cult Spy Icon status by the folks over at Cult Spy. Of course, there are a couple of minor series two spoilers in the article, but from what I’ve seen in those preview videos they won’t be spoilers for long.
David Tennant is seeing someone new. The People.co.uk is reporting that said someone is Bethan Britton, a 28 year old Welshwoman who works at the BBC contracts office in Cardiff. So, for those of you who have been wondering, that answers that question.
The Nebula Awards have posted their preliminary ballot for 2007, and who do you think has appeared in the script category? Why, Steven Moffat, of course, for Blink. He’s up against some stiff competition like Pan’s Labyrinth, The Prestige, and V for Vendetta. Good luck, Mr. Moffat.
