DVD Update

Hi all. I’ve got some fabulous news. It looks like the DVDs for the first series of Torchwood should appear in the US on 8 January 2008. (This date is, of course, subject to change.) The cast photo that TVShowsOnDVD.com got from BBC America seems to be missing a cast member. Now who could that be? (Maybe Captain Jack is out hunting Weevils?) Now, if that news wasn’t happy-making enough, how about this: A monthly Torchwood Magazine! Apparently it shall appear beginning early next year. Hopefully this magazine will prove to be a bit easier to find than Doctor Who Magazine.
Speaking of Doctor Who, the word on the street is that DVD set of Doctor Who Series Three will be available in the US on 6 November 2007. (Date again subject to change.) This is good to know. I hope that there will be tons of extras on this set.
On the Classic Doctor Who front, the fully-loaded-with-extras version of The Key to Time episode set from the Fourth Doctor era is set for release on 24 September 2007 in the UK. Hopefully it won’t take too long for this release to appear in the US. (please? Oh, Auntie Beeb…*hopeful smile*)
You may all now join me in the upcoming DVD happy dance.

Honestly, I’d rather get the unedited, episode format “Time Warrior” before we get a re-release (stateside, that is) of “Key to Time.”
I thought WB was following the UK schedule for release from now on…but that seems to have been thrown out the window since they’re skipping TimeLash and going for the two Tegan Tales stories as our next release….
Oh well….as long as we get them all released here, I suppose I shouldn’t complain.

As far as you know, is the Key to Time DVD any different than the box set from a few years ago? Hopefully not so I can save some money.
And I agree, I would much rather have The Time Warrior first.

No, Erik. This is the lots of extras version. As I recall, the one that you can get here currently is more of a vanilla release. (at least according to Amazon, anyway.) Click on the link for the extras list.
And yeah. As long as they release everything…

At least it doesn’t come out at the same time as the 5-Disc Blade Runner release…which would have meant I would be living on ketchup soup for a month.
