Have you seen the new range of high end Doctor Who collectibles from Weta? The image above is only one of them. The Dark Horse preview catalog says that this statue of The Master and an Auton will be available on 28 May for $280. Now we all merely need to win the lottery.
IDW Publishing finally has #1 of their long awaited new Doctor Who comic book available. (For folks in the USA and Canada.) Their Doctor Who Classics comic book, which features the fourth Doctor, has made it to #3 of its run. Now I need to call my local comic shop. (The one that told me they didn’t know when the new series comic was coming out. *ahem*)
11 March is John Barrowman’s birthday! According to his website, instead of sending cards, etc., he would like folks to give to DogsTrust, his favorite charity. So, there you go. Happy early birthday, Mr. Barrowman!
And speaking of dogs, Mr. Barrowman was on hand recently to officially open a new kennel block for the Cardiff Dogs Home. While he was there, he adopted a young Jack Russell Terrier and named it…Captain Jack! (All together now: Awwww!)
In other John Barrowman news, apparently he will be returning to the Pantomine stage at the end of the year. This time around he will be playing Robin Hood at the Birmingham Hippodrome. This makes me curious to see who will be playing Maid Marian and the Merry Men. Now, if only I could get over there to see this.
Now that Billie Piper has married Laurence Fox, she’s reportedly talking about adopting a baby. They both come from decent-sized families, so it would seem that she would like to start a family of her own. Makes sense to me. (Also, the couple is reported to have gotten tattoos while on their honeymoon.)
The Royal Television Society has announced it nominations for its upcoming awards ceremony. Among the nominees are David Tennant (Actor - Male), Sarah Jane Adventures (Children’s Drama), and Doctor Who (Drama Series). We’ll know the results on 19 March. Keep your fingers crossed, folks!
And finally, Digital Spy is reporting that The Sarah Jane Adventures has been commissioned for a second series. Not too surprising if it’s being nominated for awards.
