Doctor Who Muppet Titles

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Basically, this is the titles to The Muppet Show, or at least the soundtrack of same, set to some images from the new series of Doctor Who. Yeah. Pretty much what you’re imagining. Still, it’s fun any silly, and who doesn’t need that these days?

John Barrowman Sings…the Time Warp

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Yes. You read that correctly. This is a video of John Barrowman singing “The Time Warp” from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. (It is quite possible that this video will hurt your brain, depending upon how you feel about said cinema experience. You are officially warned.) This is a stage performance, complete with backup dancers. That’s right..backup dancers.

So…enjoy.

The Happier Dalek Song

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Okay. This one is also just plain wrong, but I had to share. It’s sort of a Dalek music video….to a very silly song that sounds like it is being sung by Tiny “tiptoe through the tulips” Tim.

Fair warning…the tune is a bit catchy.

Did I mention it was silly?

The Dalek Workout

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

This is pretty much what it sounds like. It’s a bit of silliness that helps Daleks…exterminate that flab. That’s about it, really.

I need to get myself some video editing skills. Perhaps then I could make my own silly videos. Until then, please enjoy this bit of Whovian amusement.

Dalek Invaders 2008ad

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

This video makes me want to get out there and film my own Doctor Who spoof. I don’t know that I could come up with something quite so fun, though. Dalek Invaders 2008ad was apparently filmed while the “actors” were on holiday. Keep your eyes open for Davros wearing a “Mr. Happy” t-shirt, Jack’s guns, and the TARDIS with a bit of a chameleon circuit problem. The dialog alone is a reason to watch this one. Once you have seen the whole thing, pause a moment to reflect on the special effects. Then, think about the special effects from Classic Who. Technology is amazing these days, isn’t it? (Huge thanks to Gillian of Food History for sending me the link to this wee movie.)

Enjoy!

A Bit of Silliness…With Socks

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Remember the Scottish Falsetto Puppet Theater? They did a parody for Torchwood (Torchwool) and another of Doctor Who. In fact, they often make references to our show in their videos. They are currently performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and posting a video diary entry each day. One of those diary entries is below. This one manages to incorporate Doctor Who in a very creative fashion.

(I should mention here that a certain Kev Sutherland, the Socks’ “producer,” is a professional artist. You’ll see why I mention this if you watch the video.)

Living With the Enemy

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

(Well…I hope that this posts correctly. Keep your fingers crossed. I hear that they’re finally working on the servers to correct the problems we’ve been having. Hopefully I will experience no more “High Load” warnings when trying to post very soon.)

Imagine if you will that the Doctor had to live for a weekend with the Cyberman family. And by family, I mean Mum, Dad, and baby. What do you think would happen? Well, that’s what the folks from Dead Ringers wondered. They invented a reality show called “Living with the Enemy” (at least, I think they invented it. I couldn’t find any record of a television show with that name online) and they got that fellow who sounds just like the Fourth Doctor to play his usual part. As you might imagine, hilarity ensues.

A Bit of Silliness

tennant-ave-1.jpg

So, there I was, heading home from my vacation, and what did I see? An exit off of the 101 marked “Tennant Ave.” Being a good little fangirl with a sign obsession what could I do but snap a couple of pictures through my windscreen as we went zooming by? Sadly, I didn’t manage to get the picture of the actual exit sign, but I did get a shot of the 1 mile marker as we went under it (above) and the half mile road sign (below) as we drove by. I apologize that my windscreen was a bit dirty, but it had been sprinkling a bit when we started for home. You know how it is. Now I wonder if there is an Eccleston Rd. out there somewhere…

And for an added bit of silliness, with spoilers for The Unicorn and the Wasp, here is a link to a terrible pun at the Livejournal community called “Ihasatardis,” home of the Doctor Who Cat Macros. (Like LOLcats, but Doctor Who related instead.) If you like puns, I’d advise that you wait to drink anything until after you’re done giggling.

You Know You’re Watching Too Much Who When…

Monday, April 28th, 2008

You know that you’re watching too much Doctor Who when you get the following error message…

“GetTitle: SQLCode = -913
DTW_DEFAULT_MESSAGE=”[IBM][CLI Driver][DB2] SQL0913N Unsuccessful execution caused by deadlock or timeout. Reason code “00C900BA”. SQLSTATE=57033 ”

And you think…”Dear Heavens! They’re deadlock sealing databases now!”

Not even the Sonic Screwdriver can save me…

With the kind permission of Steve from Dueling Analogs, I bring you…Horton hearing a Who.

Freema at Breakfast and Gareth Goofs Off

torchwood_cast2.jpg

Hello folks. Today I have a couple of videos to keep you entertained and informed. First up is an interview that Freema Agyeman did a couple of weeks ago. She did an interview on this program a year ago, so it’ fun to see how far she’s come. If my memory isn’t playing tricks on me, she seems a bit more relaxed this time. Anyway, she’s on the BBC Breakfast to talk about her time on Torchwood and her upcoming time on series four of Doctor Who.

The Sock Puppets Strike Again!

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

While the Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theater was/were appearing in Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival last August, they filmed a bunch of diary entries. This one was the most popular, and I think you’ll see why. All I’m saying is that a “TARDIS” is involved in some way. Well, of course The Socks are also involved…and Edinburgh itself after a fashion. I hope that you enjoy this bit of silliness.

By the way, for those of you who have been wondering about my computer situation, fear not! My new hard drive arrived today. Now it just needs to have everything re-installed properly, and all of the data moved back onto it.

Yeah. It might take a couple of days. But at least it’s alive.

Fun in the Whoniverse

shinything.jpg

Today I offer you some shiny things. That’s right, a few fun things to keep you entertained while I’m away. So, without further ado, here you go!

Five Fun Things I Found While Surfing the ‘Net:

* Torchsticks - Torchsticks is an online comic (and the community that goes with it) that lives over at Livejournal. It features fannish silliness and recreations of Torchwood episodes, all done with stick figures.

* The Fob Watch - So did you want your own version of The Doctor’s (and The Master’s) Fob Watch from Series 3? Well, now you can have something similar. It even has lights and sounds.

* Torchwood Babiez - Are you familiar with The Muppet Babies? Well, imagine a Torchwood version of that, and you pretty much have the right idea. It’s a fabulously funny online comic over at Livejournal that will certainly give you a giggle. Keep your eye out for the Bunny Shoe.

* 2 on Who - Listen to a documentary on the Doctor Who theme, both the past and the current versions.

* Doctor Who Games - If you still need entertaining, how about trying out some of the games on the official Doctor Who website? Sadly, SuDocWho is no more, but there are a bunch of other games you might enjoy.
