The Girl in the Fireplace - Episode 2.4

Ah, The Girl in the Fireplace. Well, firstly let me say that I want all of Reinette’s costumes (even though I would have no place to wear them to) and the baddie’s mask for my wall. Fabulous music, too. I like this episode a great deal on the one hand, but I have difficulty making it agree with the rest of the season on the other. Sigh. Oh, well. On to the spoilery stuff anyway.

School Reunion - Episode 2.3

There’s no new Doctor Who this Saturday! *sob* So, I’ll try to come up with some fun stuff to entertain you here in the meantime. (By the way, according to my estimations, I will run out of New series episodes to review at the end of May. So, it looks like I’ll have to be extra creative for June.) Here is my review for School Reunion, which is early for some of you, but late for others. It features the return of some old friends, and the first appearance of a new enemy. Oh, and Anthony Head. Want more information? Then Step into the Spoiler Zone!

Tooth and Claw - Episode 2.2

Hello. Here is my review of Tooth and Claw or, as I like to call it, “Queen Victoria, a Werewolf, and Kung-Fu Monks.” I believe that this episode is somewhere in the future for some of you out there, and in the past for others. So…that’s a sort of time travel, isn’t it? Well, if you want to know what I thought of this one, feel free to enter the spoiler zone!

New Earth - Episode 2.1

Welcome to the review for the first episode of series 2, New Earth. For those of you just joining us from watching on a local PBS station, this episode is in the future. The same goes for BBCAmerica watchers. This is an old episode for folks in the UK or who watch on the Sci Fi Channel. So, as usual, I’m somewhere between. Either way, on to the spoilery stuff!

The Christmas Invasion - Christmas Special 2005

Did you know that Sycorax is one of the moons of Uranus and a character mentioned in Shakespeare’s The Tempest? No? Well, now you do. The Christmas Invasion is the very first Doctor Who Christmas special of the new series. So, for demented Christmas music and all kinds of mayhem (and spoilers) read the rest of this post.

Children in Need Special

This is the wee special that came between Parting of the Ways and The Christmas Invasion. I know that it’s short, but I’ll try to do a proper review. Off we go.

The Parting of the Ways - Episode 1.13

Okay, this is it. The end of series one. I’ll be putting together a reference post soon, so that all of the series one reviews can be accessed from one post. Anyway, The Parting of the Ways is a fabulous, stressful, emotional roller coaster. Kudos to Russell T. Davies! Well, let’s get on to the spoilery stuff.

Bad Wolf - Episode 1.12

I’m sorry that this is a bit late, but here it is at last. This episode is a bit stressful to watch, but what do you expect from the first half of a two-parter? The music adds to this effect I think. *shiver* Right, then. On to the spoilery stuff!

Review: Boom Town (9th Doctor)

Boom Town - Episode 1.11

Okay, it’s time for the Boom Town review. I think that this episode, more than any other, led to the creation of the Torchwood series. Mind you, that’s just my opinion. Another opinion that I have is: I want Rose’s scarf. Hmm…I seem to have a clothing fixation. Well, on to the spoilery stuff anyway.

The Doctor Dances - Episode 1.10

Well, here is The Doctor Dances, part 2 of Steven Moffat’s scary (and award winning) first season adventure. Oh, and did you know that I have a cat named “Spock“? She’s very…Spock herself. I know. A bit random, but then, I’m like that. On to The Spoilery Stuff!

The Empty Child - Episode 1.9

Sorry that this one is late, folks. I had a going away party that I had to attend last evening…’cause it was for me. Then the being busy getting ready for my new job. Anyway, this is the first half of the two-parter for which Steven Moffat received the Hugo Award. I would also like to note here that I want Rose’s t-shirt. (I think that it would go well with the 55 pairs of silly socks that I received as going away presents at that party I mentioned.) Now, onto the spoilery stuff!

Review: Father’s Day (9th Doctor)

Father’s Day - Episode 1.8

Father’s Day is my favorite episode from season one. That choice wasn’t a logical one, so much as a visceral one it seems. If you want to know more about my reasoning (or lack thereof) go forth into the spoilery section!

Review: The Long Game (9th Doctor)

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

longgame1.jpg

The Long Game - Episode 1.7

The Long Game is my least favorite episode of the new Doctor Who so far. I’d love to be more specific than that, but I’m reserving my specificity for the spoilery stuff below. I’ll give you a hint: Adam is annoying. I’m only re-watching this so that I can be thorough, and because I told y’all that I would. On to the spoilers!

Review: Dalek (9th Doctor)

dalek1.jpg

Dalek - Episode 1.6

Dalek is the episode in which The Doctor goes a bit mental. It’s an intense one, and I really like it. Did I mention that you get to see The Doctor’s naked chest? Onward to the spoilers!
