A Quick State of the Whoniverse Update

Hello all. It occurred to me that things might be a little bit confusing in the Whoniverse at present considering the difference in premiere dates, etc. between the US and UK. There’s also the fact that we are trying to keep track of three shows at this point. So, here is a quick State of the Whoniverse checkup.

Doctor Who:

UK - Series 4 began on 5 April with Partners in Crime.

US - 18 April will see Voyage of the Damned premiere on the SciFi Channel. Partners in Crime is scheduled to follow on 25 April.

Australia - I hear that they are still waiting for the Christmas Episode.

Torchwood:

UK - Series two ended on 4 April. There are already rumours about series three, but nothing official.

US - It looks like episode 12 will be playing this Saturday on BBCAmerica, with the final episode following on the 19th.

The Sarah Jane Adventures:

UK - Series one is complete, and I hear that they are working on series 2, but no word as to when it will begin.

US - Series one will begin with Invasion of the Bane on 11 April on the SciFi Channel.

And that’s where we stand at this point. Anyone have the Torchwood or SJA information for Australia?

  1. Ben Says:

Did you keep up with The Sarah Jane Chronicles for the whole run, or did you lose interest (as I did)?

  2. Gillian Says:

Neither show on Free to Air TV here yet, and I don’t keep an eye on the various pay networks.

  3. Elisa Says:

Ben, I must admit I haven’t even seen ep. 1 yet. I’m going to give it a try when it plays in the US.

    Thanks, Gillian.

  4. Josie Says:

Yes!!!! In Australia we are still waiting for the Christmas Special. Arggg! Its killing me I’ve been waiting for ages!! I don’t think the Sarah Jane Adventures have screened yet and I believe we only have got Torchwood 1 so far. Why does everything take so long?

  5. Elisa Says:

Josie, I suspect some sort of evil plot led by the Master, who only faked his death. Hey. It’s a theory.

    Thanks for the Intel!

  6. Doctor What Says:

Did you all see the recently announced news that Richard Dawkins is set to guest star this season? Given who he’s married to in real life (Lalla Ward), can the return of Romana be far behind? Romana was last seen in a parallel universe, right? Perhaps she has something to do with the return of Rose? Just a theory!

  7. Elisa Says:

Hmmmm… You may have a point there, Doctor What. Mind you, there has been a suggestion that Romana was the President of the High Council during the destruction of Gallifrey. I’m not sure how canon that is, though. I would love for Romana to return.

  8. Erik Says:

Thank you so much for listing out all the dates and times. I’ve been trying to figure out when everything starts out here. I knew I could count on you.
