A Panto and a Hootenanny

What better way to celebrate the new year than with a look at how folks have actually been celebrating? First of all, I have for you a clip from Jools Holland’s Hootenanny 2007. David Tennant and John Simm appear, seated at a table, and talk about TARDIS-theft, looking forward to Kylie Minogue’s performance that evening, and how glad they are to be in the same room with Sir Paul McCartney. It isn’t very long, but David’s reaction to the suggestion of someone stealing the TARDIS is quite amusing.
Next, I offer you the entirety of Virgin Radio’s Cinderella Pantomime from Christmastime 2006. And yes, by entirety, I do mean all thirty-five minutes. David Tennant plays Buttons. Brian Blessed swears (Seriously. He swears. On the radio, no less. Watch for David Tennant’s reaction to this.) Thandi Newton plays Cinderella and manages to deal with a rather interestingly written script. And Christian O’Connell plays Prince Charming. I laughed so hard I was afraid I’d bruise a rib. So, keep drinks well clear of your computer and enjoy.
